Derek Turner's research and teaching explore philosophical issues in the life, historical, and environmental sciences. He served as associate director of the Goodwin-Niering Center from 2014 - 2020, and has served as director since 2020. You can find out more about his research .

Jennifer Lamb

Director of Operations

Jennifer (Pagach) Lamb came to the center with extensive experience in environmental and government regulation, training, public speaking and stakeholder engagement.  She has decades of on ground, hybrid and online course design and development experience, is a seasoned mentor and advisor and has used her vast environmental network to benefit and build the center’s network as well. She currently runs the center’s Service-Learning Program and teaches Intro to Environmental Studies as a Natural Science, and is helping design and run Connecticut’s Environmental Education Certification Program.  You might find her leading a guided nature meditation, teaching an Original Hot Yoga class, or looking at birds. 

Maria Rosa

Senior Fellow

Dr. Rosa is a marine ecologist who studies ecophysiology of marine invertebrates, or how these organisms interact with their environments and adapt to challenges. Her work helps to inform active conservation efforts, including living shorelines () and eelgrass and coral restoration.
